WAYNE COUNT RADIOACTIVE WASTE - UPDATE
Below is important information that has come to our attention regarding Wayne County allowing the importing of radioactive waste into our community.

Dear VBT HOA Presidents, Board Members, and Leaders,
This email provides an update following the June 16th meeting and important details regarding upcoming events concerning nuclear waste in Van Buren Township on June 18th and June 26th.
The June 16th meeting, held at the library, addressed Van Buren Township leadership, including HOAs, businesses, and local leaders. Attendees included Representative Reggie Miller, several local businesses, and three VBT-HOA presidents. The comprehensive material presented by the Michigan Against Atomic Waste team (Jeneen, Jessica, and Chris) is attached for your review: Community Factsheet 6 15 2025.pdf. Please familiarize yourself with this material, as it will be crucial for the June 26th meeting with EGLE.

June 26th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

-
Action Requested: A significant turnout is critical. EGLE has indicated they will prioritize data-driven and scientific arguments over general complaints. While most of us are not nuclear scientists, environmentalists, or hazardous waste experts, we strongly encourage you to do your best to study the fact sheet and be prepared to contribute with well-reasoned, fact-based concerns.
Final Request: Would you all ask your property management companies to forward this request to all the HOAs they represent. We could use all the support we can get on June 26th. The 10-mile radius around this Willow Run landfill has a population of 360,000. This is no longer simply a Van Buren Township issue.
Sincerely,
Sanjay Singh
HOA President, Robinson River Park
