BANK FRAUD UPDATE

Great News!!
Our community has been able to recover the $18,700 that was stolen when we became the victims of a“check washing” incident last spring. The Charter Estates HOA has been diligently following up and going through the banks investigative process. Along the way we contacted several people and agencies and they all played a part in our recovery. We owe thanks to Detective Bettendorf from the VanBuren Police Department, the FBI, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, WDIV Help me Hank, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, State Representative Reggie Miller, and our board members and residents that kept our issue relevant to Citizens Bank. We were contacted by Congresswoman Dingell’s office and informed that our funds were returned on 8/1/23. Thank you all for your support!
